Лунное затмение и Великое противостояние. Как это было

В ночь с 27 на 28 июля состоялось событие, которое происходит раз в 25 тысяч лет — совпало самое длинное в этом столетии Лунное затмение и Великое противостояние Марса. К сожалению, в Петербурге из-за облачности увидеть красную Луну было нельзя. Однако мы собрали снимки фотографов со всего мира, которым удалось запечатлеть это редкое астрономическое явление, а также кадры, сделанные NASA.

Last night’s eclipse at totality and Mars (bottom). While I’m still resentful of the clouds for ruining a week’s worth of planning, it was one of the most beautiful things I’ve experienced in my 28 years on earth.

~ The aftermath of the bloody blood moon spectacle in Northern Norway. I was already heading to sleep on my camper van in Northern Norway when suddenly the social media started to go crazy about the moon eclipse. I jumped out of my car and realized the whole eclipse was gone already two hours ago. Sad but not defeated I climbed one of the hills near Nusfjord and was happy to witness this moonrise over the Nusfjord town. Definitely not a blood moon but a experience nevertheless 😆

“Caught the Moon leaving Earth's core shadow, just before setting over the South Atlantic.” — @Astro_Alex_ESA Today, a #LunarEclipse was visible to most of Earth’s population, except for North and Central America. Lunar eclipses occur about 2-4 times per year, when the Moon passes into the Earth’s shadow. In order to see a lunar eclipse, you must be on the night side of the Earth, facing the Moon, when the Earth passes in between the Moon and the Sun. You may have heard the term ‘Blood Moon’ for a lunar eclipse. When the Moon passes into the Earth’s shadow, it turns red. This happens for the exact same reason that our sunrises and sunsets here on Earth are brilliant shades of pinks and oranges.
